Bombay House is a heritage building which was constructed in 1924 and ever since has been head quarter of Tata Group. The building went under complete interior renovation and was re-opened on July 29th 2018 to mark 150 years of Tata Group. The building houses the offices of Tata Group’s present Chairman, Directors and their staff. It was inaugurated by Mr. Ratan Tata who also occupies one of the offices on the Chairman floor.
The primary challenge was it being a heritage building which were quiet visible during the project execution and installation of light fixtures and other systems. From the design’s perspective the Architect’s requirement was very specific for lighting to be the mirror image of the furniture.
All the linear fixtures were to be custom made and connected at precise angle of 120 degrees.
Also it being platinum rated Green Building, the wattages had to be such so that it aids to achieve the desired LPD (Light Power Density) and yet maintain the required lux levels for office space.
IBLED understood the need of the architect & highly competent in –house Technology team successfully customized linear fitting which is connectable at 120 deg with 8ft & 4ft each arm length.
Since transportation of these customized fixtures was going to be another challenge, hence all the assembly & further customization was done at the site itself.
Project executed as per the client’s requirement for all luminaries and also achieved desired LPD as per the standards for ‘Green Building’.All the ‘Y shaped’ (120 deg) linear fixtures were supplied with custom made design to have no light leakages at the joints.
